Passing on the Art of Living
A story of a family and passion
Heidi Barnes founded the company in 1995, with Thibault de Saint Vincent as president. Today, BARNES is a global ambassador for the art of living and the world’s leading prestige real estate company, with over 1,500 employees in more than 100 dream destinations around the world.
At the outset, the British businesswoman was able to sniff out exceptional properties in Paris and London and tastefully decorate them for a high-end expatriate clientele. A visionary, Heidi then took excellence to the extreme, offering an innovative range of tailor-made services. Since 2004, BARNES has been expanding internationally under the impetus of Thibault de Saint Vincent, an entrepreneur at heart. He never ceases to reinvent himself, to innovate with passion, rigor and always the desire to see people and projects grow around him. The couple share a passion for the art of living, literature, antiques, travel and adventure. From their love come Félix, Pierre, Gabriel and Victoria, who inherit the family’s strong values. BARNES soon became a family affair, and moved to different continents, instinctively developing a sensitivity to art in all its forms.
In addition to acquiring a primary or secondary residence, from 2018 onwards they developed various complementary activities to better support their customers: art consultancy, private aviation, yachting, acquisition of wine estates, hunting estates, stud farms, or even seasonal rentals and concierge services.
BARNES is present in leading international cities as well as in the most beautiful holiday resorts, and is pursuing its national and international development. It recently designed a new type of concept store offering its customers an experience dedicated to the celebration of the art of living. BARNES turned a new page in 2024 by becoming a fully-fledged player in the hospitality world, with the launch of Maison BARNES New York in collaboration with chef Daniel Boulud, Maison Boissière, an elegant residence in the heart of Paris’s 16th arrondissement, and MOMENT BARNES in Mougins, an old house that invites you to take an “art de vivre” break around a restaurant, wine cellar, bookshop and art gallery. Three places to celebrate French art de vivre.
With a clear and ambitious vision, BARNES Chairman Thibault de Saint Vincent asserts that “BARNES aims to become the world’s leading in luxury services.
