Medieval castle with incorruptible and perennial charm in the province of Viterbo
In the charming village of Torre Alfina, 620 metres above sea level, in a privileged position between Latium, Umbria and Tuscany, 30 minutes from Lake Bolsena and less than 2 hours from Florence and the centre of Rome, an architectural work of unparalleled beauty stands out: a castle of great historical-artistic importance dating back to the 8th century during the reign of the Lombards, with 5. 000 square metres and 35 rooms, enriched by sumptuous interiors, manicured Renaissance gardens covering over 1,000 square metres and five distinctive towers dating back to different historical periods. The interiors of the castle are a celebration of its thousand-year history: the monumental Carrara marble staircase connecting the ground floor to the first floor, the gallery embellished with paintings by important artists of the time, the inlaid wooden vaulted ceilings, statues and marble floors are breathtaking. The large windows with rounded arches provide a boundless view of the village below and the verdant Latium countryside. The original furnishings tell with infinite realism the timeless stories of the different eras the property has passed through, the mullioned windows surmounted by arches and those framed in lava stone on the side bodies represent a truly emblematic magical touch.
