This beautiful property seduced by all its assets: majestic architecture, human size, good general condition, noble and original materials, outbuildings, large and refined guest house, elegant gardens, beautiful wooded park, river...all being close to a small charming and quite alive village.

180 kms away from Paris (less than 2 hours driving), this property is situated between the region of Sologne (very well-known for its woods ans hunting facilities), the region of Sancerre and Burgundy (fulfilled of fine wines, vineyards, castles, etc.).

In the heart of these varied and pretty places, on the banks of the Sauldre river, surrounded by a wood, a park and a sumptuous French garden, the pink brick castle rises with, at its feet, many outbuildings:
• former stables restored to create a wonderful guest house with swimming pool,
• a caretakers’s house,
• reception halls,
• numerous garages, workshops and spaces for servicing equipment,

This site, on a total surface of about 17 hectares, is classified on the French supplementary historic monument list since 1926.

The origins of the site date back to the 11th century... An old wooden house stood on these lands. In the 15th century, on the existing foundations, a castle rises, surrounded by dry ditches.

The current configuration of the prestigious building is the result of developments in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Since 1960, many restoration works have been executed. The castle and its outbuildings are regularly maintained, with the permanent concern of preserving the historical character of the place.

Each of the facades of this castle is different. The West facade, which was once the main entrance to the castle, overlooks sumptuous French gardens. Built with visible bricks, this facade has a corner tower in the South. In the North, we discover an imposing donjon in pink bricks, striped with black. The South facade has the shape of a rectangular dwelling offering a corner tower on each side. A large terrace with a double staircase allows to enjoy the view of the park. Finally, in the North, since the 17th century, the main entrance opens onto the main courtyard after crossing a fixed bridge.
