First star for Café Boulud at Maison BARNES New York

Perspective

17/12/2024

Café Boulud, nestled in the heart of Maison BARNES New York, celebrates its first Michelin star. This prestigious honor recognizes the excellence and expertise of the team, led by chef Daniel Boulud, an emblematic figure of French gastronomy in New York.

The restaurant embodies a family tradition dear to the chef: a century ago, his grandparents opened a Café Boulud near Lyon. In 1998, Daniel Boulud revived the concept in New York, before extending his vision to Palm Beach, the Bahamas, Toronto and recently Beverly Hills.

At Maison BARNES, the chef continues this heritage with a contemporary approach. His loyal collaborator, Romain Paumier, former Executive Sous Chef at Restaurant Daniel and originally from Lyon, officiates as Executive Chef. Together, they offer a menu built around four culinary inspirations: La Tradition, revisiting French classics; La Saison, celebrating seasonal produce; Le Potager, with vegetarian dishes; and Le Voyage, featuring international flavors.

On the pastry side, Katalina Diaz, a talented chef trained at Restaurant Daniel, enhances the experience with desserts also inspired by these four themes.

Maison BARNES would like to warmly thank Daniel Boulud, partner from the outset, as well as Romain Paumier and Katalina Diaz, the true architects of this success. We would like to thank the Michelin Guide for this recognition of French art de vivre and gastronomy, constantly reinvented. A star to celebrate with elegance and passion.
