FAREINS - The exceptional castle, built in 1610 and renovated in 1998, is without doubt one of the jewels of the Rhône-Alpes region. It is a French Historic Monument, as are its landscaped gardens. The particularity of the castle is the two majestic reception rooms (one on each level) with their magnificent fireplaces and their north and south facing windows creating an elegant and very Italian environment with their sumptuous decorations. A magnificent open staircase with carved fireplaces adds to the impression of grandeur and refinement of this luminous castle. Several flats with magnificent views of the gardens were created. In 1632, the painter Pietro Ricchi decorated a number of rooms in the castle, including the room of the labours of Hercules, the parade, the perspectives, the chamber of virtues and the antechamber of the hunts, a pictorial ensemble without equal in France. The outbuildings and a farmhouse with a pool transformed into a swimming pool without any opposite offer many more possibilities. The formal gardens with their majestic plane trees and pruned yews surround the precious fountain and give the castle an air of majesty. Woods, meadows, an orchard and a vegetable garden complete this beautiful ensemble of 39.6 hectares, so close to Lyon and Geneva.
