Orvieto - Enchanting Borgo Fattoria
ORVIETO - Poggio Montone. We are pleased to offer for sale a spectacular Borgo Fattoria immersed in the greenery of its private park, with a truffle vocation. It consists of no less than 55 hectares, 31 of which are arable land, irrigated by the existing pond on the property, and 21 hectares of woodland with tall trees. The property consists of a large manor house surrounded by farm buildings used as dwellings for the farmers, warehousemen, workers, carpenters and their families. Built in 1873, based on a design by architect Paolo Zampi, Poggio Montone was one of the first farms in Italy to breed pure English blood horses for galloping races (Scuderia Bertone). This is why we find the stables for brood mares and stallions, the stud farm and the coach and buggy depot. At the entrance to the large courtyard, we can see an evocative aristocratic chapel designed by the architect Carlo Zampi, with frescoes by the painter Tommaso Onori and a bronze portal by Maurizio Ravelli. The village is part of the 'Orvieto classico' DOC production area. Ancient charm and unspoilt nature are the elements in which this property is rich.
