Carlos Cruz-Diez exhibition

Perspective

02/05/2016

Sharing with its international clients its appeal to the excellence and uniqueness, BARNES, luxury real estate leader, offers art exhibitions in its offices. Today, one of the most important figures of kinetic art, the Franco-Venezuelan artist Carlos Cruz-Diez, is hosted by Barnes in its agency rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré (Paris 8th) from the April 7 until July 15, 2016.

This exhibition will unveil the dialogue between the works of Carlos Cruz-Diez and its integration in housing and architecture. Each of the twelve works presented are built around the chromatic phenomenon Physichromies, Chromatic Inductions, Chromointerférences, Transchromies ... and will be accompanied by numerous photographs of iconic works, designed for the city or private places.

From the beginning of his career, the artist was interested in artistic events beyond the museum context. Thus, the urban environment becomes a source of exchange, a testing ground. 'I think, he said, that a work of art integrated into the habitat or the city must generate new events constantly changing. The viewer discovers - in the process of color make - emerging and disappearing before his eyes. '

Carlos Cruz-Diez was born in Caracas in 1923 and lives and works in Paris since 1960. It is one of the major players in the optical and kinetic art. His works are found in the permanent collections of prestigious institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York; Tate Modern, London; Museum of Modern Art of the City of Paris; Centre Pompidou, Paris; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; Wallraf-Richartz Museum, Cologne ...
