Villa Elephant -- pure joy, Thai style

Private Visit

13/09/2019

Overlooking the sea on the south coast of Ko Samui (Samui Island), Villa Elephant is a jewel in a crown.

Surrounded by vegetation, this marvel is being offered for sale and rental by BARNES Thailand, and features Thai- and Bali-inspired décor without the least bit of flashy bling. Everything here has been carefully thought out to serve the well-being of each and every person. The four suites are designed like cocoons overlooking nature and the sea. Havens of serenity where you can re-energise, before going out and mixing with other people in the villa's vast sitting rooms, or poolside.

'Villa Elephant is a mirror image of life in Thailand, and on Ko Samui in particular. As soon as you cross the threshold of the villa, you are enveloped in a wave of serenity and joy to be savoured”, explains Thomas Cornet, Director of Barnes Thailand. 'Its architecture, on the side of a hill, is ideal for families and friends to live together in harmony, while giving each other the space and the privacy they need, soothed by the surrounding vegetation and the sea'.

The white sand of Laem Set beach, just a few minutes away on foot, is lined with luxury hotels home to incredible restaurants and gorgeous spas. Guests staying at Villa Elephant will thus be spoiled for choice, unless, of course, they decide to avail of the private concierge services provided by the office BARNES Thailand.

'Everything is simple on Ko Samui', adds Thomas Cornet. 'It's easy to get to restaurants using the many ride service hailing companies that operate on the island, but restaurants can also deliver their food to villas! So you can order food from three different restaurants and get it delivered at the same time. In any case, our concierges and managers are at your disposal to meet all the requirements of you and your guests'.

Days and nights bend to the needs of each guest staying at Villa Elephant. The sitting rooms overlook the sea and the lush vegetation, taking full advantage of the 360° view over the gorgeous landscape. The swimming pool outside, which also affords amazing panoramic views, is spellbinding. But the nec plus ultra is perhaps a game of pool with a sea view.

Villa Elephant is 26km (about 16 miles) from the international airport, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist area of the island. The island’s “wild” nature remains untouched here, even though numerous tours and excursions can be organised in the space of just a few minutes. Not least among them, an elephant-back trek. The villa is naturally named after elephants, which are to be found everywhere on Ko Samui.

'The four suites offer mind-blowing views of the sea and mountains', in the words of Thomas Cornet. 'Here you can leave the windows open, and a gentle breeze cools the house... The island's climate is pleasant all year round, but the best time to come is between Christmas and the end of March'.

And because Thailand is a gift that just keeps on giving, this extraordinary villa, located in a residence with a security guard, is available for next to nothing. It is being offered for sale for 29 million bahts (about €860,000) and for rent from 8,000 bahts per day (approx. €240). Given that a fifth double room, slightly below the villa, can be used to house staff, or children... or friends who just happen to drop by, what a deal!
